Merapi is the name of an active volcano in Java Island. This mountain located between Yogyakarta Province and Central Java Province. This mountain has an altitude of about 2968 meters. This mountain is also known to be very harmful because it was recorded erupts every two years or every five years.
Since 1548, This mountain has erupted 68 times. The area around this mountain is an area that densely population. Nearby cities of the mountain is Magelang and Yogyakarta city. In light of the hazards that Merapi poses to populated areas, it has been designated as one of the Decade Volcanoes.
